Remembering  Mushtaque Choudhary: 

A Legendary Producer/Director of Pakistan Television 

Mushtaque Choudhary  was a legendary Television Producer of 1980s-1990s. He earned fame and respect for directing lighter comedy drama series and serials for state-owned Pakistan Television. The plays like Sheeda Talli, Shab Daig and Haveli etc. earned tremendous popularity. He also produced and directed dozens of other Urdu and Punjabi dramas for Pakistan Television. However he produced many single plays, songs, music videos, magazine programs, Qawwalis, talk shows, children programs, documentaries and high profile interviews. 
Mushtaque Choudhary was born on 13th December 1941 in a small village Ganja near Lalamusa, District Gujrat, in Pakistan. He was the only son of his parents. He belonged to a feudal Gujjar family. He got his early education from his village and completed his secondary school education from Zamindar High School Gujrat city. He then got Bachelor of Arts degree from Zamindar College.
He moved to Lahore for further education and got admission in Masters of Arts in History from Punjab University. He also passed MA English from the same University.
Mushtaque Choudhary started his career with a job of English teacher in a private school at Karachi. Then he shifted to Lahore and continued teaching.
He joined Pakistan Television in 1975 as a Duty Officer. Then he was promoted to the post of Transmission Controller. He had a creative passion to work for TV programs. He changed his field by moving to Programs department as an Assistant Producer. He assisted some producers of PTV. He did outstanding work with senior TV Producer Rashid Dar. Mushtaque Choudhary assisted Rashid Dar in his some most popular drama series like Sona Chandi  Andhera Ujala and Alif Noon. He was promoted as a Producer in 1987 and he worked in the same position till 2002. 

There are a lot of productions on his credit. The drama series and serials include "Aap ka Khadim" popularly known by the name of a character Sheeda Talli. It was written by famous playwright Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi. The other dramas were Shab Daig, Ali Baba, Faisla ·         Aankh Macholi, Aankh Ojhal, Paanchon ghee Main, and Roop Behroop. 

His Punjabi Drama Series/ Serials included "Hari Bhari Chaan" "Satt Rangi Saver", Trail, ·Purray di Vaa, Sajri Rutt, and Hook.

He directed award-winning single plays like Ghuggo Ghoray, Writer:Nasir Baloch;Roshni, Writer: Munnoo Bhai; Mohib-e-Watan, Writer: Zafar Mehmood and Eid Kahani, Writer: Dr. Ayub Nadeem.
